Huron River Tributary by TheProphetTalia Huron River Tributary by TheProphetTalia
After a good 4 years of hiding in my basement, I've finally unearthed some of my old paintings from Oberin.

This was my very first oil painting. It's very small, roughly 4" x 6.5"

Hey! That's not bad. Landscapes are a good way to start in oils. *nods* They're so forgiving...er...the landscapes...though oils can be too, if you sweet-talk them just right. lol.

*nod nod*

I've been trying to do a blasted figure in a seascape today... and it totally kicked my ass. I had to throw in the towel. (Bad part is I was trying to get a commission job with it. There goes that feeling of being an artist again. Damn it... Well, that's what I get for trying to do it in acrylics. *wants her oils baaaaaaaaaad*)

(Sorry, I feel like whining to someone.)

^_^;; It's okay. Something that frustrating deserves a little whining. I do it all the time. *grins*

*chee* Thank you so much!

I remember I finished it in one day... It was less than 4 hours. Again, it's *really* small.

[This little painting give me such needed hope right now.]

But seriously... it's really small... and I had a photo reference... *sweatdrop* So it shouldn't have take too long, right? *sweatdrop*

I paint landscape as well, and even with photo refernce, it takes me up to twelve hours. Probably just because I'm a slow kid, but still, it seems pretty awesome that it was just 4 hours.

*glomps back*

XD

How big are you normally working? These are all very small. The acrylics all took about two hours. (The one's I'll be putting up shortly took less, but they're practically monotone... so yeah...)
